Jacob Rose – Specialisation – SP3 2019

Hello. I have been trying to get my planning documentation done over the last week and think about my ideas for my projects. Here is my completed Research document.

I was going to begin work on my project planning document, but I decided I would wait until finalised my ideas.

These are my current thoughts about my ideas. I want to focus on photoreal assets compared to stylised. My ideas currently are:

- Recreating a real life object that I could measure and show that I have the ability to transfer it from real life to 3D
- I have never done Photogrammetry before and was thinking about gaining some knowledge of it
- Architectural Visualisation of a bathroom
- Modelling from a concept

This is an object that I was contemplating using photogrammetry for. I have never attempted any animal shapes so this might a challenge, however I am not sure how much the photogrammetry does for you. If this is not recommended I am happy to look for something else to do:

These are some concepts that I was thinking about using, I couldn't find many realistic concepts so I thought I may have to try translating the stylised concept:

After a lot of trial and error I think I have finally got my mesh created from Autodesk ReCap Photo. I tried Meshroom, Agisoft and Reagrd 3D. Out of all of them ReCap was the only one I could get to work and I think it did a pretty good job. Meshroom - Wouldn't let me add in my images, Agisoft - Wouldn't let me save and Reagrd 3D only made half the model.

Hello. Over the holidays, I have managed to clean up my high poly model in Zbrush and have retopologised it in Maya. Today give it a go at UVing and baking the texures in Marmoset. I got the Normals out alright, but the Albedo did not turn out so well. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I have managed to bake the textures and have also refined the high poly mesh in Zbrush, as per Mr Delmastro's feedback and I think the normals look much better. For the presentation I am thinking of making a pedestal for the statue to sit on, but I am just thinking about it for now. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This is the kind of pedestal I was thinking of. I don't want to distract from the model itself.

Hello. I decided to go ahead with the podium idea and am now just trying to finalise the presentation. In between that while I take a bit of time to think about how I going to light the Lion Statue, I began roughly blocking out the Pirate Sword today. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Here is where I am at with the Statue. It is still very rough and I am still playing around with it:

Hello. I have kept working on the Pirate Sword while have been thinking about the lighting of the Lion Statue. I am pretty happy with how it is looking and I will probably be taking it into Zbrush for the fine details soon. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Here is an update on my sword. I have UVed it and will take it into Zbrush once I have finished the Lion Statue lighting.
