I am still working on my kitchen scene at the moment but am having issues with my renderman licence not working. I have contacted them about it but I have not heard anything back yet so I am still figuring it out. I have finished a mixer asset for the scene though I am just waiting to be able to texture it since completing the UVs.
I should have the modelling and texturing for my second project done by the end of the week while I sort out the renderman issue with my first one. I am planning to learn how to render in Arnold and am planning on doing a diamond ring for my second project with a camera travelling around the object. If a diamond turns out to be too difficult to model well I am thinking I might fall back on just a decorative silver ring. The only question is how I can have it in a black environment with nice lighting or a HDRI, should I have it inside a black sphere so there is a surface around it for lighting, or should I just have it with no background planes with just the object lit?
These following 2 are what I am thinking I will have as a backup.
Here is the first test render of the diamond. I have fixed my renderman issues so this is done in renderman, but I cant get a student licence for Arnold so I feel I may have to just use renderman sadly.
