3DZephyr worked - Still wanted CUDA, but was happy enough running off my CPU instead.. Ended up with a fairly bumpy ole model though :)

Alrighty, just modelling some forest stuffs for my enviro...I've been wanting to try out SpeedTree for ages, so I decided to give it a go... Created some materials along the way from various flora images on the web.. The work flow is super easy to handle, and ended up being way to much fun (yes, I did just say tree modelling was fun.. I don't understand it either.. ).. It's taken me a few days, but it's been worth it

Ferns example:

(I created a norm/spec/rough as well, but the drift is there)

I changed my mind about the concept of my level - I ditched the viewing platform, and I'm going with a bridge over the gorge (between the two ruins) instead.. It just feels more interactive that way:

ANd I'm just putting together the block outs of the ruins... I like the idea of keeping the bricks modular, so I can scatter them about a bit, and put some more random bits and pieces around the place..

I think after this, it's mostly going to be creating materials- especially the terrain. I'll be stretching my Ue4 materials knowledge fairly hard I reckon, not sure how to go about it except hunker down on the tutorials...

I might give quixel a go for the textures , just because it's something different - might as well learn new stuff now, whilst I can..

Part one of my forest floor, made in Quixel

and the start of the texturing of the battlements made in Quixel, then applied in Substance

I've been really unwell, so this is as much as I have gotten done, sorry :( It'll have overlaying textures in Ue4 - this is the underlying stone..
